Dadventure to Douglas Hot Springs

Desperate to get Isla into the Aussie lifestyle as early as possible, we've finally been able to treat her to a weekend out bush. She was born at the start of the build up which meant it's been far too hot, or wet, or both for camping but we've now introduced her to her Swag! We opted for an amazing bush camp spot at Douglas Daly Tourist Park that allows Clyde the Border Collie, is close to the area's amazing hot springs and is a large secluded spot so we can't upset anyone with Isla's crying or, more likely, my guitar playing! With some of the usual suspects on amazing form, the good company and amazing location were a perfect start for Isla out bush.

Accommodation: Douglas Daly Tourist Park, Bush Camping (Site 1A is definitely best for a decent size group).

Child Friendliness: Good shower blocks, swimming pool, bar & restaurant, small shop, plenty of space and shade.

Watch out for: Hot Springs are hot enough to burn in places, bush campsites right on the river, freshwater crocodiles in campsite water.

Attractions: Great campfire pits, Douglas Hot Springs nearby, exploring the river on site, the arches.

Price: $13 each per night at the tourist park, 150kms worth of fuel from Darwin (each way).

Extras: Dog friendly camping, but they're NOT allowed in the hot springs park.
